Jaipur is situated in

The City Palce is an
fine blend of traditional Rajasthani and Mughal art and
architecture. The City Palace complex houses several palatial
structures. The first building in it is Mubarak Mahal, built by
Kaharaja Madho Singh. It has a beautifully carved marble gate with
heavy brass doors on either side of this gate. Beyond this gate lies
the Diwan -e-Khas, or the "Hall of Private Audience".
The fort is situated
at a distance of 11 kms from Jaipur.It is one of the finest examples
of Rajput architecture. It was the ancient capital of the Kachhawah
rulers. The original palace was built by Raja Man Singh and
additions were made later by Sawai Jai Singh. Amer Fort includes the
following monuments: Diwan-e-Aam , the Diwan-e-Khas and the Sukh
Niws where a cool breeze blows across channels of water for the
purpose of air-conditioning.
Jantar mantar is one
of Jai Singh's five remarkable observatories. Constructed with stone
and marble its complex instruments whose settings and shapes are
precisely and scientifically designed, represent the high points of
Medieval Indian astronomy. The Ram Yantras used for gauging
altitudes are unique in their isolation.

The
tomb of Emperor Akbar presents a perfect blend of Hindu and Muslim
architecture. Its construction got completed in 1613 A.D. and has
been retained in its best possible form. It is also open for the
tourists from dawn to dusk.
It was built by the
king Sawai Pratap Singh.The Hawa Mahal is the most strikingly
designed monument in Jaipur. It was conceived to provide adequate
vantage position behind delicate stone carved jali screens to the
palace women for watching the royal processions passing through the
bazaar below.
The temple is
situated to the north of Chandra Mahal in the amidst of the
sprawling Jai Niwas Garden is the eye-catching temple of Lord
Krishna. The idol was brought from Vrindavan and installed here by
Sawai Jai Singh II as the tutelary deity.

Elephant Festival
Gangaur is one of the
important festivals in Rajasthan, which is celebrated a fortnight
after Holi. It is perhaps the only festival in Rajasthan that is
celebrated for 18 days. Celebrated in honor of Goddess Paravati,
Gangaur festival is celebrated by the womenfolk of Rajasthan. On the
occasion of the festival, offerings are made to the Goddess Parvati.
The festival is considered an auspicious occasion for young people
to choose their life partners.
The festival is
celebrated every year in October- November. Diwali is perhaps the
most popular of all Indian festivals. The origin of this festival
can be traced back to the ancient Hindu epic Ramayana, when Lord
Rama returend to this kingdom Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. The
whole kingdom was lit up with diyas (earthen lamps ) to celebrate
his return. To date, on Diwali day, houses all over India glow with
the twinkle of innumerable divas, candles and electric lights.
This festival is held
on the day of Holi, the festival of colours, at the Chaughan
stadium. Beautifully decorated and caparisoned elephants assemble to
participate in the royal procession. Elephant polo, elephant

extreme climate. December and January faces chilly nights with
temperature of 4 °C. The city has spring months in February and
March. The summer months of May & June are scorchingly hot with
mercury soaring as high as 46 °C. The city does not have much of
rainy season. The monsoon lasts from July to September.
