Sim's Park Dolphin's Nose Viewpoint Kotagiri

It is one of the prime attraction in Coonoor, having a collection of over 1,000 plant species, including magnolia, pines, tree ferns, and camellia.  The key attraction of the park is the annual fruit and vegetable show held in May.

It is 10 kms from Coonoor. The Dolphin's Nose Viewpoint is an important place to visit. It provides a panoramic view of the vast expanse of the Nilgiri hills and the famous Catherine Falls.

This place is about 21 kms from Coonoor. It is famous for Coffee plantations, Elk Falls, Rangaswamy Pillar and Peak, Kodanand view point.

Ooty Lamb's Rock Laws Falls

The Ooty is india's most famous hill station. It is situated is 19 km northwest of Coonoor. Ooty is the popularly known as the queen of the southern Indian hill stations and is an immensely popular tourist destination.  Travellers can enjoy a number of outdoor activities like horse riding, trekking,  and boating in Ooty.

By Air By Rail By Bus

Coonoor does not have an airport of its own. Coimbatore airport is nearest to Coonoor, it has daily flights to and from Madras, Bangalore, Cochin and Trivandrum.

Coonoor is on the toy-train line between Mettupalayam (28 km) and Ooty. Another alternative is from Coimbatore, it takes around 3 hrs to Coonoor. However, this train service is often disrupted during the heavy monsoon season.
 

Coonoor is well connected by bus with Ooty, Coimbatore, and Kotagiri.

Fruit and vegetable festival Tea and tourism festival

There is the annual fruit and vegetable festival that is hosted at the Sim's Park. The festival organized in May each year.

This annual festival attracts tea connoisseurs from the world over in January at Coonoor. It is noteworthy that the hill resort of Coonoor lies in the Nilgiri Mountains that are renowned for tea plantations. Some of the better-known tea brands from Coonoor are the Orthodox, CTC and Green Leaf.
