Chennai  is the gateway to Southern India. It is located on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal. The 12 kilometer long Marina Beach forms the city's east coast and is one of the longest beaches in the world.

Kolkata (also known as Calcutta) is  the capital city of  West  Bengal. The city is being protected by  the Hooghly River on the west, a creek to the north, and by salt lakes about two and a half miles to the east.

The city of Bombay originally consisted of seven islands, namely Colaba, Mazagaon, Old Woman's Island, Wadala, Mahim, Parel, and Matunga-Sion. Malabar Hill is the heighest point in the Mumbai.

It is the historic capital of the former kingdom of Mewar. The city was established by Maharana Udai Singh, who on the advice of a holy man shifted his capital to the banks of Lake Pichola, and named it after his name - Udaipur.
